There is a secret that no one told you about  breast milk – regardless of what you eat your baby will get all the nutrients he needs to grow.
But that doesn’t mean that you diet or have junk. That’s a strict no moms. You need to have a extra super meal to cope up with all the energy lost during pregnancy and labor, to make breast milk for your baby and keep your energy high to take care of your little one .
The more variety you eat the more variety of flavors your baby is exposed to. So, he’ll not be a picky eater.
Breast milk unlike the formula has a variation in content and taste during each feed during your entire lactation period.

Super foods that breastfeeding mothers should include in their diet are : .

1. Water : I know it’s not a food item but our milk is mainly made out of water. So the more you drink the more milk you’ll get. Pumping mothers can also experience this if you drink 1-2 liters of water before pumping your milk output will be more. So, c’mon mom’s drink at least 4 liters of water in a day to stay hydrated as breastfeeding makes you lose around 500 ml of fluid per day.

2. Goond/edible gum : It can be consumed directly or with milk or in form of famous ladoos made my our moms and mother in law’s post delivery.  It helps in gaining body strength,  reduces back pain and controls your period flow. Have it at least once a day

3. Ajwain/ Saunf/ Methi Dana/Til : They help to clean the stomach and uterus. They are used to prevent colic in babies and our great milk boosters.  Can be taken with water everyday. –Dried Nuts : They are powerhouse of energy. They are anti aging, good for skin and keeps you satisfied between meals.

4. Iron rich foods : Be it meat, chicken , eggs or green leafy vegetables for vegetarians have it in all your meals to fulfill the iron requirements of your body and baby.
